The mission of Seedlings Educators Collaborative (SEC) is to honor, support, and connect educators from public, parochial, and independent schools by offering ongoing opportunities to share and learn from one another and other experts, to build connections with community resources, and to provide environments to reaffirm their common passion for education.
In SEC workshops, teachers learn strategies to integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics and other disciplines into real-world applications with science mentors, museum educators, and engineers. With the guidance of Seedlings Facilitators, participants explore New Haven and develop assessable, innovative STEAM curricula that meet state and national standards. In a supportive and actively engaging environment, educators forge ongoing relationships and community connections and leave with tools to support them throughout their careers.
