Brooksvale Park is teeming with life! We saw thousands of tadpoles, lots of salamanders, a few frogs, turtles, water snakes, and tens of varieties of birds. The pond was truly singing with the sounds of spring. If you were in the water habitats focus group last summer and integrated SEC work into your curriculum, consider the possibility of taking your class to Brooksvale for a field trip. I’ve been able to see a couple school groups in action on my recent trips to Brooksvale, and can tell you the students are enthralled by the pond life. For those of you unfamiliar with the park, it is located in Hamden, and includes a small farm with chickens, bunnies, miniature horses, and goats, as well as plenty of space for running around and picnicking. Anyone have any exciting field trips coming up for the end of the year?
